Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Suitable for all levels it is a perfect complement to more active styles of yoga. Yin yoga activates specific “energy lines” called meridians, in the body that promote wellness to various organs, glands and tissues of the body as well as promoting mental and emotional balance. In this workshop we will explore the Fundamental Yin Meridians and the Four Pillars of Mindfulness. Join us for just one Yin Yoga session or all four for a weekend of detoxing and letting go and awakening to gratitude within. All levels workshop.  Register for the workshops sessions at the link below.http://yogaeasthealingarts.com/yoga-and-meditation-class-schedule/

A Taste of Tantra Sun & Moon Flow

Tantra Flow A Practice with Heart

The essence of Tantra philosophy is a varied and wide-ranging panoramic worldview of non- duality. Tantra sees the world as a web of energy and consciousness that includes both the microcosm and the macrocosm all interwoven as a single piece of cloth, intricately bound together. Consciousness, or Shiva, and energy, or Shakti, are like two sides of the same cloth, supporting and strengthening one another, never separate. This relationship can also be thought of as awareness in action.
Tantra on the mat represents this same worldview; on the mat, the individual yogi is aligned and connected with all things. Simply said, we experience the sacred connection that binds us together as the One in the many and the many in the One. When we experience this non- dualistic energetic alignment on our mats, we move through our practice with gratitude, reverence, and respect for the sacredness of all things. We begin to stretch our minds beyond our separate senses of self and look deeply into our inter-beingness with all.
Seeing in this light, we can begin to move in new and different multidimensional ways. Layering aspects of meditation, mudras, and seed mantras, into our practice of Surya Namaskar and Chandra Namaskar we interweave the subtle body aspects of energy together in more consciously meditative ways. Our asana practice become an internal energetic alignment, an awareness in action, a meditation in motion, of mind, body, and spirit in union, or yoga.
For a taste of Tantra flow, please join me for my workshop, “Sun and Moon Tantra Yoga Flow,” Sunday, March 24, 2019, 9 am-12:30 pm, at Yoga East Healing Arts Studio, 827 Broadway, Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Kitchen Sink Yoga #1 – Tree Pose

Kitchen Sink Yoga #1 – Tree Pose

Welcome  to  kitchen  sink  yoga  for  the  everyday  goddess.  Thank  you  for  joining  us  today.  So  we  come  to  this  section  of  St.  Gasana  our  practice  of  empowering  postures  and  affirmations.

So  join  me  over  in  the  sink  area  of  your  kitchen  and  we’ll  start  just  by  standing  with  our  back  to  the  sink  so  you  can  use  the  sink  in  a  couple  of  ways  to  really  just  add  a  little  bit  of  stability  to  the  posture  for  yourself.  And  some  support.  So  just  lean  into  the  back  of  the  cabinet  right  below  the  sink  there  and  face  away  from  it  and  bring  your  feet  so  that  their  hips  with  the  part  and  parallel  to  each  other  take  a  moment  to  just  soften  your  knees  just  a  little  microbent  and  feel  the  energy  of  your  feet  and  legs  go  down  and  connect  to  the  earth.  I  want  to  feel  rooted  in  solid.  Pressure  your  feet  a  little  deeper  down  and  begin  to  elongate  and  lengthen  your  spine  upward  toward  the  sky.

Pressed  the  crown  of  the  head  up  toward  the  ceiling  released  the  shoulders  away  from  your  ear  lobes.

And  just  experience  the  awesome  power  of  standing  on  your  own  two  feet.  And  we’ll  repeat  the  affirmation  out  loud  together  once  and  then  you  can  say  it  silently  to  yourself  once  rooted.  In  mountain  pose  I  am  solid  and  strong  as  the  mountain.

Big  deep  breath  in  the  nose  side  all  through  the  mouth  one  more  breath  like  that  big  inhale  through  the  nose  exhale  sigh  all  out  soft  jaw  awesome  pressing  the  feet  even  deeper  into  the  earth  lengthen  and  elongate  the  spine.

The  energy  of  the  upper  body  extending  toward  the  sky.

Bring  your  right  hand  to  your  belly  your  left  hand  to  your  heart  and  just  begin  to  experience  the  movement  of  your  breath.

Just  feeling  that  sensation.  The  inhalation  and  the  acceleration  letting  your  mind  and  body  attuned  to  that  rhythmic  pulsation  wave  like  movement  of  Brad  inhaling  from  the  belly  to  the  chest.

Then  exhaling  from  the  chest  to  the  belly.  Letting  the  breath  be  full  natural  anti.

And  on  the  next  acceleration  take  your  arms  out  wide  to  the  side  like  goalpost  arms  or  sometimes  we  call  this  goddess  arms.

So  elbows  are  bent  and  the  palms  are  facing  forward.

Take  a  big  deep  breath  in  and  open  the  chest  and  as  you  exhale.

Bring  the  palms  to  touch.  Bring  the  elbows  to  touch  in  front  of  the  Heart  Center.

And  how  big  deep  breath  and  perhaps  the  arms  away  from  you  back  into  gold  poles  like  you  were  pressing  open  some  big  door  way  into  the  temple  of  your  body.

Axelle  bring  their  hands  back  to  center  palms  touch  elbows  touch.

Again  take  the  arms  out  wide  to  the  side.

Go  Paul’s  position  open  the  chest  and  the  heart  acts  help  bring  the  arms  back  to  center.  Two  or  three  more  brats  like  that.

 Feelings  sensing  the  movement.

And  then  sounding  the  affirmation  out  loud  with  me.

And  then  once  silently  to  yourself  My  heart  is  open  to  give  and  receive  love.

And  on  your  next  acceleration  slowly  release  the  arms  back  alongside  the  body  step  your  feet  a  little  closer  together.  And  for  this  next  balancing  pose  for  Tripos  make  sure  that  your  sacred  or  your  back  is  right  up  against  the  back  of  your  kitchen  sink  areas  are  nice  and  stable  there.  And  reading  down  through  the  LeftFoot  press  it  into  the  earth  without  locking  that  knee  and  then  bend  the  right  knee  and  just  bring  the  inside  of  the  right  foot  to  the  lower  part  of  the  left  calf.  Can  rest  your  toe  on  the  earth.  Even  in  more  of  a  kickstand  position  if  that  feels  more  stable  to  your.  From  here  you  can  begin  to  explore  bringing  the  hands  into  Namas  stay  or  prayer  position  at  the  heart  center.  And  or  inviting  the  tree  to  blossom.

In  any  way  or  shape  that  would  feel  good.  Taking  the  arms  out  wide  to  the  side  with  palms  up  in  front  of  mujer.  Taking  the  arms  over  head.  To  steeple  position.

Their  fingers  intertwined  in  the  index  finger  toward  the  sky.  This  feeling  the  whole  length  of  your  body.

Feeling  your  connectedness  to  the  earth  and  sky.

And  then  saying  the  affirmation  with  me  once  aloud.  And  then  once  silently.

My  roots  run  deep.  I  am  balanced.  And  calm.  On  the  Axelle  bring  that  ride  back  down  to  the  earth  both  feet  on  the  floor  big  deep  breath  in  and  out.  And  how  tense  the  shoulders  up  towards  the  ears  act  say  I’ll  drop  them  down  and  back.

One  more  time  in  our  tents  and  tighten  and  lift  the  shoulders  and  exhale  at  them  soften  and  sink  down  the  back  of  the  body.

Staying  connected  to  your  breath  begin  to  root  deeper  into  the  right  foot.  Taking  Tripos  on  the  opposite  side  left  knee  goes  out  wide  to  the  side  so  the  left  to  those  lower  right.  Leg.  Hands  to  heart.  Or  overhand.  Breathing  and.

Eastern Therapeutic Bodywork

Wheels of Life Keep Turning

It’s all about energy balance. All life is energy. All living things take in and use energy and release its byproducts through cellular processes. Normally our body’s immune system can maintain this delicate balance called homeostasis. But sometimes this balance gets tipped and everything gets thrown off balance. Mainly this occurs from the constant stress we live with today in our society. That stress response that was designed to turn on when needed, forgets to turn off any more. The body doesn’t get enough relief to allow for the re balance to occur naturally through rest, and relaxation. We have to rest, to heal, to live a long and happy life. It’s a basic human need like water, food, and air.

Healing is always occurring as cells rebuild themselves on a regular basis even when we aren’t aware of it. Healing occurs on many levels and in many ways. It’s not an unusual isolated event or some miracle, its a natural body function that maintains a dynamic state of wholeness, integration and balance. Our mind/body has an inherent wisdom and “knows how to self regulate and self correct”. Bodywork that uses energy medicine like Reiki gives the body an opportunity to do its own natural healing thing. It helps to create a deep relaxation response that shuts off the stress button and allows our body to re boot.

Eastern Therapeutic Bodywork uses a combination of alternative integrative modalities to helps clients tune into thier own internal wisdom or BodyMind connection. In fact they can’t help but tune into it. It’s like a harmonic for mind and body. All that energy vibrates and vibration resonates, especially when exposed to a frequency in close proximity. Clocks do this when placed in the same room, violins do this, and so do our cells. Our body vibrates just like an instrument. What we call “energy medicine” is this simple attunement to a higher vibration that allows the natural harmony of health and wholeness to rebalance. So you can just relax, renew, rejuvenate, mind, body, and spirit.
